Through her work, she delves into mystical concepts and scientific inquiries, addressing enduring grievances rooted in colonial histories that continue to unsettle the harmony of body, mind, and soul in contemporary society.

In her immersive installation Orbit Diapason (2021), Rezaire weaves together a narrative bridging our present reality with speculative mythologies of the future in a honeycomb-shaped dome structure. The film raises questions about the human tendency toward expansion, imperialism, and destruction. It also sheds light on our yearning for interaction with extraterrestrial life and exploration of alternative territories, all the while mindful of the potential exhaustion of Earth’s resources.

Against this backdrop, the artist proposes healing practices grounded in Indigenous wisdom: fostering responsible coexistence with all beings, nurturing both physical and mental well-being, and cultivating a harmonious relationship with nature and its resources. As an activist, she emphasizes community solidarity and promotes reconciliation between electronic, organic, and spiritual legacies, fostering a collective consciousness (“we”).

Tabita Rezaire’s (*1989, F, lives in Cayenne, GF) work has been exhibited globally at prestigious venues including the Centre Pompidou (Paris), Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, Museu de Arte de São Paulo, Serpentine Galleries (London), Institute of Contemporary Art (London), Victoria and Albert Museum (London), Tate Modern (London), Museum of Modern Art (New York), New Museum (New York), Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Art (New York), Gropius Bau (Berlin), and at international biennials in Sydney, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Kochi, Athens, Helsinki, Busan, and Berlin.

</details>

Tabita Rezaire versteht sich als Heilerin.
