Workshop: Maya Minder, Klöntal Biohack Retreat

In cooperation with Hackteria.org, the artist invites international biohackersfor a retreat in the Klöntal valley. Scientists, hackers and artists meet for the development of ideas and open exchange. Biohacking is an openscience movement which aims to make science more accessible through playful experimenting with biology. Public workshops in a temporary laboratory provide insights into the subject matter. Guided by professional assistance and affordable DIY lab equipment, alternative bio- and food technologies are being discussed and explored. This has partly utopian potential, contrasts with commercially motivated research and offers easy access to complex research topics.
