Fishing with San (2017)
By Meter (2017)

The conceptual and performance artist San Keller (b. 1971, lives in Zürich) is known for his tendency to slip into the role of an arts service provider. For the Klöntal Triennial, his service consists of launching an open call for his performance By Meter via social media, which invites all interested performers, professional or amateur, to transform a stretch of road in the Klöntal valley into the stage for a day-long performance. The performers, however, remain free to decide what they perform along the route. The segment of road to be devoted to each presentation is determined by dividing the total distance by the number of participants. The performance-mob thus moves through the Klöntal valley with a plurality of forms, leaving a diversity of voices and traces in its wake. In his second action, Fishing with San, he invites his artist colleagues to join him on a boat trip in the Klöntalersee. While fishing together, Keller discusses the small and large “catches” of their artistic biographies with them, especially with respect to the period during the nineties.
