Tower, 2017

American artist Nik Kosmas‘ (b. 1985, lives in Berlin) sculpture in the camping grounds, Tower, evokes a climbing frame for children. Kosmas was originally a full-time artist as part of AIDS-3D,founded in 2006 with Daniel Keller. Alongside his artistic practice, he now devotes himself to his fitness and nutrition businesses as well asdesigns garments, shoes, and other lifestyle products, some of which are produced under his own label while others have been commissioned by companies. His practice has thus reoriented itself towards activities and languages which are more practice-oriented and relevant to people‘s everyday lives. For the Klöntal Triennial, he has developed a hybrid structure which occupies the point of intersection between art and the everyday. The structure is activated by the individual intuition and creativity of its users, who are free to determine the nature of their encounter with the work. Here, the artist emerges as a mediator beween disciplines, a new kind of designer with transformative social potential.
